Digital Nomad Life
We have both worked as digital nomads since the start of our van life adventures in December 2020. Vanessa working remotely full-time, and Shayne freelancing. Since then, we have worked in more than 26 different states across four time zones.
What is a Digital Nomad?
According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, a "digital nomad" is someone who performs their occupation entirely over the Internet while traveling, especially: such a person who has no permanent fixed home address.
Pros & Cons
Being a digital nomad entails a unique lifestyle that has many pros and cons. Pros include location independence, saving money and time with no commute, and beautiful views while working. Cons include reliance on strong internet access, lack of face-to-face interaction with coworkers, and no fixed address (which makes receiving mail or items quite difficult).
We find that the pros of digital nomad life definitely outweigh the cons. Being able to work in so many different beautiful locations has to be the highlight!
